"If everyone in the band, other than individual instrumental skills, has the talent and ability to sing, then why not all of them sing?" This was the main thought that gave life to Athalie.
Deriving from a band with a different lineup, name and totally different style and genre, Athalie rose from an agreement to be a group where everyone can sing while playing their respective instruments, swaying from the common band lineup of one main vocalist plus instrumentalists.
Formed in 2015, Athalie is a 5-piece all-female band whose members are mostly from the AB-Music Production Course in De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB). It has since won a 1st runner up title in a battle of the bands event which was held at DLS-CSB last August 2015.
Aside from the battle event, among the first gigs (2015) of Athalie were:
-a birthday celebration in Lola Nene Restobar, QC
-"Grrrl Power!" Music Wednesday (a weekly performance of students from AB-Music Production at the school cafeteria), School of Design and Arts (SDA) DLS-CSB
-Tribute to Sir Louie Ocampo (one of the renowned and respected maestros/composers of the country) at the SDA Black Box, DLS-CSB
-"Amplified!" concert at the SDA Theater, DLS-CSB
Athalie continues to play their music, both covers and originals.
The latest gigs they had were at a 100th birthday celebration in Bulacan (Feb 2016), 90th birthday celebration in Shangri-la St. Francis, Mandaluyong (Mar 2016), and COA Awarding Ceremonies at the Commission On Audit (COA) Q.C. (May 2016), Animation Festival at the SDA Cafeteria, DLS-CSB (June 2016), Concert for a Cause at the ARG Theater, DLS-CSB (July 2016), 50th birthday celebration in Cubao QC (Sept 2016), Rock'n' Respect at the '70s Bistro, QC.
We would love to sing for and with you! :)
